It's snow joke

7:03 arrived this morning on time, which was great after all of the snow we got last night, but only half the carriages they normally provide. So train absolutely packed. No apology from driver. Back to their usual pathetic service.

You have to laugh...

In an idle moment over the weekend, I thought I'd look at the FGW vision on their website:Our vision is "to be the leading train company and our customers' preferred choice of travel. Our people, through their passion, energy and commitment, will provide customers and communities with travel that is safe, reliable and enjoyable. Our objective is to be a profitable train operating company and an employer of choice, offering consistent punctuality, reliability and excellent customer service."Ummm, what do you think? It made me chuckle. Alternate vision statements welcome, something like:"To be the leading train company without any trains" or"Our customers' (whoever they are) last choice for travel - as long as we make a profit, why should we really care what they want" or"Safe, reliable and enjoyable.....not"

Shock, horror, seat

Pinch me or tell me I've suddenly been moved to a parallel dimension that is the opposite of everything in this one, but I got one of those...hang on, whats the word....yes, a seat... on the 7.03 from Maidenhead. OK, the train was 5 minutes late, but joy of joys, a seat. First since December. Are we finally starting to see an improvement?
